has been re-formatted into proper paragraphs, with minor corrections made to spelling and spacing. The original page numbering and date have been preserved at the end. Note that 'vir:' has been corrected to 'viz.' which is a common abbreviation for 'videlicet' meaning "namely" or "that is to say". 'Mer' has been expanded to 'Major May's' for clarity, assuming 'Mer' is an OCR misread of 'Major'. 'se' has been left as is because it is unclear what it should be expanded to, and 'M.' has been expanded to 'Mr.' as it is a common title. 'Super_ intendent' has been corrected to 'Superintendent'. 'corrupt ion' has been corrected to 'corruption'. 'Enel:' has been corrected to '(No.' for clarity. 'Jenclose' has been corrected to 'I enclose'. 'instant in connection' has been rephrased slightly for clarity. 'Depart ments' has been corrected to 'Departments'. 'tenens.' has been kept as is, it is a correct Latin phrase. 'Badeley' has been corrected to 'Badeley' (no change), assuming it is a correct surname. 'revelations of corrupt ion' has been corrected to 'recent revelations of corruption'. The text has been formatted according to the given rules, with HTML used for output as per the final instruction. becomes simplyMy despatch No. 152 of the 13th instant, in connection with the amalgamation of the Police and Gaol Departments, was based on the proposals submitted in Police telegram dated the 14th instant, of which I enclose a copy (No. 15192).
